It's about time with the GPS tracking. Now if all states would imply it "could" hopefully reduce the statistics. TX, sister called of D.V. in home, I called for her as well on another occasion. What happened, the police did not arrest him. Said there was not enough proof & believed the husband that it was just a disagreement & officers said they could not see any physical signs and walked away.

My abuser constantly violated his restraining order. Found that you can only renew a restraining order for so long. In NY it's up to 3 yrs. Did not matter I had proof & provided proof of his constant violations. Seems it wasn't enough for them and he failed to get arrested for most. A piece of paper for protection??? Courts told me after the 3 years were up the only way to get another restraining order was if he physically hurt me again. WHAT? I have to wait for him to physically hurt me before they do anything about it? D.V. is not just physical. So where am I now always running from one state or home to the next when he's even attempted, seen or done anything to make presence known or found out about. Constantly under protection programs some work the same as that simple piece of paper only others offer more protection depending on state & programs. Restraining order or expired one, no woman should have to wait to physically be hurt for police to do something about it.

Change needs to come consistently throughout the U.S. on this issue. Everything you mentioned is true for many victims. It becomes a real game of survival. This all goes back to having a consistent approach around this issue. We need the help of our leaders to make changes to ensure that every person responding to this issue at the criminal and judicial systems are trained and local laws are resisted. Some states have been taking the notice like Connecticut recently. We need every state to do their part to make sure victims are helped to the utmost.

I meant to say "revisited" not "resisted".
